Some of you may wonder what it takes to put on a larger festival concert. At the Utah State Fair we fully supported the 80’s rock invasion concert. It featured Vixen, Quiet Riot, Slaughter, Great White, and Stephen Pearcy of Ratt. Here are a few details about that show. Sound checks and load in started at 7 am lasting until 5 pm. There were 4 drum kits swapping in and out totaling over 45 mics and lines for drums alone. 10 monitor wedges and 8 channels of IEM’s used and shared between bands. Less than 20 minutes between bands for change overs. And the only reason we were delayed was because of lightning. All in all a highly successful event totaling over a 17 hour day for the crew involved.
