We still have not reached the goal . . . I was hoping to be able to finalize everything and have a memorial for her by Ostara / Easter (the time of rebirth & renewal), but we were not able to do that.
Hopefully, by Mother’s Day in May (or latest by my mother’s birthday on June 1st) we will be able to give her some sort of memorial.
If you can, please help us . . . If you cannot afford to donate monetarily, PLEASE HELP SHARE this POST as widely as possible.

They have still not even allowed us to see my mom’s body (apparently there’s a separate & additional $300+ charge just for that, too) . . . And it seems there are other “separate & additional charges” in the hundreds of dollars each to be able to witness my mother’s cremation so that we can be sure it’s her ashes we’re receiving and then to actually receive her ashes (and this is all just related to the basic cremation process, without any kind of service or memorial — which we did not request).
This whole process has been a compounded ordeal during a time when we should be able to deal with the grieving process without the added stress of getting gouged by a funeral home called “Honor Funeral” . . . Where’s the “honor” in exploiting and profiting from the deaths of people’s loved ones (especially the poor who cannot afford to be gouged)?
That’s why we’ve had to set the amount to $6000.
We’ve only been able to reach $2000, so far . . .

My mother just passed recently . . .
My husband & I have been homeless and I haven’t been able to get work since we moved back to the SF Bay Area to be closer to my mom who had Alzheimer’s.
We’ve been staying at an Extended Stay and my husband’s job barely pays for the room . . . We’ve even been struggling for food.
We have absolutely NO MONEY to pay for cremation and final expenses . . . We looked into any possible assistance, but we’re not able to find any.
The funeral home suggested we use GoFundMe.
