One of the cool things about the tattoo industry is the simple fact is I can control what I get paid. And I love a good trade because it's all about perceived value. I will absolutely do trade for tattoos. Whatchu got?

Did a little touch up on a killer tomato today, decided to slap a little white on the batch and hot damn, it's alive.

Sometimes you don't tattoo on a saturday. Sometimes it's good to reflect on the journey and the people that inspire you. Here are mine.

is the modern GOAT of Traditional Tattoos. I was first introduced to him through a recommendation by , and boy were they right. I spent a year just straight drinking the imagery and the artistry. A must know for any serious traditional Artist

Another Belzel suggestion, Mr. Briganti is a legend of the traditional craft. His bold, colorful designs are without contest. I've recently gone back to his work, studing the relationship between color and black ink.

I had the distinct pleasure of being onetime friends with Nate. In our younger years, he was a master of his craft. Now, s**t, just look! One of the most purposeful and dedicated artists I know. He was also one of the first people to encourage me to take this journey...though it took me a decade after the fact to start.

I got introduced to Ian's work while in "tattoo school"....a requirement in Oregon. Ian is a standalone traditional artist with a twist. His work helped me understand that not all traditional tattoos need to come straight out of Ed Hardy's book, that a unique voice could be given to them.

I'm not sure there's a more versatile artist currently working. I have the distinct pleasure of carrying his work on my chest. Nick Pulzone can do it all...and do it masterfully. I regularly stalk his instagram for inspiration and study, for color, design, application, and just sheer joy of craft.

is a fearless tattoo artist. I've listened to interviews with her, looked at sketches, creeped instagram, looked at websites. Her understanding of form, color, and meaningful shading is...f**k...without comparison. To achieve that color blending and design sensibility is but a dream of mine.
tattoo I can thank instagrams algorithm for my discovery of this artist. There is no one on the planet that understands blackwork better. Not in my opinion. I spent 15 years as a graphic designer before I hopped on the tatt train...and Sunhan doesn't waste a single line on design.
