The studio is equipped with two table top platen presses, a Challenge flatbed press, and drawers upon drawers of lead type, wood type and vintage cuts. PETE Community Letterpress is to provide affordable community access and to preserve the art and craft of letterpress printing while supporting our vibrant local arts scene. Bridget, Kaitlin & Lyman have a combined 30 years of experience as instructors. They moved into the shared studio space in 2013, and began their Paper & Pints series, which included live printing demos and visiting artists. A strong passion for education and preservation is what motivated them to open their space as a community studio in the Spring of 2016.

Our next Print Party VIP “Very Inky Printmaker” spotlight is Mike Toth of Mike Toth ✨

If you know Mike you know he’s one of the nicest and most talented ink slingers in the bay. And if you don’t know him, you’ve probably still seen his work- he prints gig posters for some of the hottest shows in Tampa Bay. Mike has been participating in our community print fairs since the OG “St. Printersburg” event back in 2019, and we’re so grateful he’s back for this year’s Print Party at the Preserve. Ry Mccullough of Standard Action Press!

Ry Mccullough is an artist, printmaker, and educator, teaching in the Department of Art + Design at University of Tampa. At the Print Party, Ry will be demonstrating puzzle block relief printing!

Puzzle block printmaking (also called jigsaw printmaking) is a technique where an artist carves a single block of linoleum or wood, cuts it apart into separate interlocking pieces, inks each piece with a different color, and reassembles them like a puzzle to print a multi-colored image in a single pass.

Got a BIG block (or want to carve one)? Let’s run it over with a STEAMROLLER at the Print Party at the Preserve on Saturday, November 14th, 2026! 🚜🖤

🖨️ Block requirements:
• 1/2”–3/4” thick
• Max size: 3’ × 5’
• MDF recommended (plywood & linoleum welcome)
• Seal with polyurethane before the event
• Paper/cloth + ink provided!
• Blocks will be printed first come, first served, with at least one print pulled from each block.

BIG news! We’ve been awarded funding to be a part of the new monthlong “Art Everywhere” celebration this fall, made possible by a Creative Pinellas grant through Pinellas County arts tourism funding👇👇👇

With support from this grant, we’re bringing back the Print Party at the Preserve on Saturday, November 14th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve!

🎉The Print Party is a free, family-friendly celebration of printmaking that includes demos, hands-on activities, and steamroller printing. Presented by PRINT ST. PETE St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Friends of Boyd Hill the event will feature over a dozen local printmakers in screen print, letterpress, papermaking, intaglio, cyanotype, block printing, and more.

NEW workshop alert! Learn how to CMYK photos or illustrations using the Risograph! Sunday, September 27th from 10:00am to 4:00pm 🌈

In this 6 hour workshop, attendees will learn advanced RISO techniques including separating an image into channels, adjusting them for print, and then experiment with raster options. We’ll be printing in Aqua, Fluo Pink, Yellow, and Black ink.

Attendees will leave with an edition of 25 8×10 prints and one of everyone else’s prints, as well as a resource packet and color chart. Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will be eligible for studio time to return for future projects.

NOTE: Participants should have their own laptop with Photoshop. All other materials provided.
Though not required, this session is best for those who have taken the Riso Intensive or have comparable experience.

Get an introduction to carving & printing your own blocks, and tips for printing on textiles! Attendees will leave with their carved stamp and a printed tea towel.
