sometimes when I’m filming something for work I can be really critical about my house.
It seems like everyone on Instagram lives in a massive place, with huge windows, original character from some idealistic time period, super expensive furniture, and perfect props for filming.
I can get judgmental towards my space because it’s not “perfect” for filming in
But it’s perfect for living in. And that’s more important
When I’m eating dinner with my husband, or hosting friends, or doing laundry — I don’t think about how my house isn’t perfect for filming a reel in. Why is it that when we get ready to do something for Instagram, nothing is good enough anymore? It was fine yesterday, but today its “too small, too messy, too dated, not enough”. I hate that.
Because I love my house, me and my husband purchased our first home this year and that’s a huge deal!
Instagram is great, but it can really take the joy out of things sometimes. I constantly have to remind myself that what my house is enough, my career in this season is enough, I don’t have to come on here and prove that to anyone! And neither do you
So if you’re like the majority of us, and don’t live in a 1920’s mansion — that’s okay. And you can still create beautiful wonderful things for yourself and your business
Dont let comparisons bog you down 🤍
