One shared password. Unlimited access to every client file.

A Utah law firm just learned this the hard way. A login got shared, and an outsider ended up with full access to the firm's document repository. Client personal info exposed. Now there are criminal charges involved.

No fancy hack. Just a password that lived in too many places.

If your team shares logins (we see it all the time), that's the cheapest fix in IT: individual accounts, MFA, and access you can shut off in one click.

$90,000.

That is the average damage small businesses reported from email scams in a survey of 500 American small businesses. 72 percent had fraud, scams or ransomware last year.

It usually looks boring. A fake invoice from a real vendor. An email from "the owner" asking accounting to wire money. And recovery rates on stolen funds are often under 10 percent.

50 years of the St. George Marathon.

Thousands of runners, a few thousand more families cheering on the sidelines, and about $15 million rolling through our local restaurants, hotels and shops.

If you are a local business getting slammed this weekend, that is a great problem to have. Just make sure your card readers, Wi-Fi and POS are ready for it. The worst time for tech to quit is your busiest day.

Hacked May 1. Customers found out in September.

An insurance company in Provo says someone got into its systems and downloaded files on May 1, 2026. Notices went out in September. State filings list Social Security numbers, medical records, financial accounts and driver's licenses.

Five months. That is how long a quiet break-in can sit before anyone knows.

Most small businesses would never know at all. Nobody is watching the logs.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

CISA boils it down to four things:
1. Turn on MFA
2. Use strong passwords (a password manager helps)
3. Keep your software updated
4. Learn to spot a phishing email

Simple list. Most small businesses we look at are missing at least one.

The south side of St. George is exploding.

In-N-Out, Cafe Rio, Les Schwab, Great Clips and more just opened around Desert Color and Pioneer Road off Exit 2.

Every one of those doors needs Wi-Fi, a POS, cameras and a network that is not wide open to the parking lot. The best time to get that right is before opening day, not after the first problem.

Opening a new spot or moving? We will walk it with you.

97 percent.

That is the share of cyber insurance claims that came from small and mid sized companies, not the big guys. NetDiligence just published its 2026 study of 10,309 real claims. Those SME claims added up to 2.5 billion dollars in losses.

Ransomware caused 67 percent of the loss dollars. Business email compromise was next.

Insurers are not guessing about this. They pay the bills. And the bills are coming from businesses that look exactly like yours, with 12 computers and one guy who is good with technology.

We are in St. George. We answer in 60 seconds. No contract required to have a conversation.

Stout Roofing just moved into a new St. George headquarters.

Almost 30 years in Southern Utah, about 200 employees, and they finally put the whole team under one roof out in the Fort Pierce Industrial Park. Office, warehouse and manufacturing space in one spot.

We love seeing this. A family business that started small here and grew up here.

Here is the part nobody puts in the press release: when you move a 200 person company, the network moves too. Cabling, phones, cameras, the server, the printers, the wifi that has to reach the back of a warehouse. Get that wrong and day one in the new building is a very long day.

If you are moving or expanding in Washington County this year, talk to somebody local before the keys change hands, not after.

A Utah hospice just told patients their information was exposed.

Elevation Hospice of Utah, based in Draper, disclosed that someone got into its email system back in 2025. Names, medical info, health insurance details, dates of birth. The notice went out this month. At least 437 people in Texas alone are confirmed affected, and the total is bigger.

Read that again: 2025 break in, 2026 letter.

That is what an unnoticed inbox does. No alarm goes off. No screen turns red. Someone quietly reads your email for months, and you find out when the lawyers do.

Most small offices here in Southern Utah have no idea who is logged into their Microsoft 365 right now. We check that for free. Five minutes, we look at sign in activity and forwarding rules and tell you straight.

86 percent.

That is how many small and mid sized businesses had at least one cyber incident in the last year, from a global survey Kaspersky published Sept 8. Only 14 percent got through clean. Phishing was the most common way in.

Read that again. Getting hit is now the normal outcome. Not getting hit is the exception.

So stop planning around "if" and start planning around "when." Backups you have actually tested. MFA on email and banking. Somebody who picks up when it goes sideways. We answer in 60 seconds.
