Let's address the elephant in the room. Yes, a lot of the social media content I create for work is AI-assisted.

And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

As someone living with quadriplegia, AI has been a game changer for me professionally. It's allowed me to be more creative, productive, and efficient while overcoming some of the physical challenges that come with my disability.

The ideas, direction, and decisions are still mine. AI just helps me bring them to life.

That said, I get it. AI-generated content is everywhere, and some of it is downright terrible. I also recognize the irony that something making my job easier might be making social media less enjoyable for others.

So I'm genuinely curious...

Are you getting tired of AI-generated content? Does AI-assisted writing bother you as much as AI-generated images? Does knowing how it helps someone with a disability change your perspective?

I'd really appreciate your honest feedback, good or bad. I'm always looking for ways to improve what I do!

A major new source of education funding is coming in 2027. What could it mean for physical education?

The IRS has released proposed rules for the new Education Freedom Tax Credit, which could help families access funding for a range of educational expenses and services.

While much of the conversation has focused on school choice, public school students may also benefit from funding for qualifying educational resources and services.

Could this create new opportunities to support physical education, student wellness, and technology that gets students moving?

It’s a development worth watching.

What happens when students can actually see their effort in real time? They move more, engage more, and take greater ownership of their health.

At Lincoln Elementary in Norman Public Schools in Norman, Oklahoma, Heart Zones is showing what an innovative approach to physical education can look like.

Students use real-time heart rate data to understand their effort, work toward personal goals, and stay engaged throughout class. That data can even extend beyond PE, creating connections to subjects like math and science.

That’s the thinking behind the Heart Zones Move Solution: using technology with purpose to make movement more personal, measurable, and meaningful for every student.

Are we asking students to sit still when their brains may learn better when their bodies move?

Research from Minnesota adds to the evidence connecting movement, fitness and academic success.

Every Thursday, we’re sharing stories from across the country about the importance of movement for learning. Different states, same story: movement matters.

In Minnesota, students had more opportunities to be active throughout the school day, and the research found that aerobically fit students were more likely to demonstrate proficiency in both math and reading.

Movement isn’t simply a break from learning. It can be part of how we help students learn.

How much of your PE class is actually spent moving at a moderate-to-vigorous intensity?

The goal is for students to spend at least 50% of physical education class time in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA).

But here’s the challenge: Can you tell just by watching?

With Heart Zones, teachers can measure individual student effort and see exactly how much class time students spend in MVPA.

So, PE teachers, how close do you think your classes get to 50%?

What happens when students can actually see their effort in real time?

At Joyce Kilmer Intermediate School, part of Mahwah Public Schools in Mahwah, New Jersey, Heart Zones technology is helping turn participation into something students can see, understand, and respond to.

Even during activities that naturally have downtime, students are finding ways to keep moving, stay engaged, and earn FIT Points. The school has seen increased excitement and motivation around movement, with students using real-time feedback to push themselves and stay active throughout PE class.

That’s the power of making participation measurable, personal, and motivating.

Heart Zones recently visited The University of Alabama, where VP of sales, Joe Gooden worked hands-on with senior-level Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) students.

The University of Alabama PETE program is incorporating Heart Zones wearable technology and FIT Points into its secondary PE curriculum, giving future educators real experience using objective data to measure activity, evaluate lessons, and improve how PE is taught.

This is what the future of physical education looks like: better data helping teachers make better decisions.
