This charge port from a ZTE Max Blue today is the prime example of why you shouldn’t rule out a charge port simply because it looks fine.

There is zero visible damage to this port, but once taken out and flipped over, you can see where the solder points failed, causing the board and port to not make a proper connection and resulting in the device not charging.
