Last week, Main Street Emporium was honored to receive the Royse City Chamber’s Business of the Year award.
I’ve spent the last few days trying to find the right words. In that time, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on why this recognition means so much.
Truthfully, “The Year We Built” was one of the hardest years of my life and one of the hardest seasons for this business. There was so much change, loss, and uncertainty. At times, it felt less like a year of building and more like a year when everything was falling apart.
But through it all, God was at work.
After years of trying to carry the weight of this business alone, 2025 became the year I finally surrendered it all to God and trusted Him to lead. Not just Main Street Emporium, but my life too.
I was called by name. Saved and redeemed. 🕊️
Looking back now, I can see that while I was focused on simply making it through, God was doing something far greater than I could see. What began as a small business became a place for conversations, prayer, Bible studies, community, and connection.
That’s why being named Royse City Chamber Business of the Year means so much. It’s a reminder that God can do more with our surrender than we can do with our striving.
Thank you to my parents for the endless support, my kids for their sacrifice, my family, our team, the community, and the amazing RC Chamber for supporting us through every season.
Most of all, thank You, Jesus.
To God be the glory. ❤️
