Have you ever thought about how truly rare and special you are? 🌌 Scientists have tried to calculate the odds of a single person existing, and the numbers are so huge, they almost sound like science fiction. First, think about your parents. Out of billions of people on Earth, they had to meet at the right time, in the right place. That alone was already very unlikely. Then, from millions of possible s***m and thousands of possible eggs, the exact two had to come together to make you. If even one tiny detail had been different, someone else might have been born instead.

But that’s not all. Every single ancestor of yours, going back thousands and thousands of generations, had to survive, grow up, and have children. If even one link in that chain had been broken, you wouldn’t be here. Earth itself had to stay alive and safe for billions of years—scientists think only about 9 out of every 100 planets like ours could last that long. And inside your body, your DNA carries billions of unique codes, shaped by random changes that make you one-of-a-kind.

When you add it all up, the chance of you existing is about 1 in 10^2,685,000. To put that into perspective, the number of atoms in the entire universe is only about 10^80. That means the odds of you being here are much, much rarer than even the number of atoms in space!

The development of quantum computing—especially reaching million-qubit scale chips—could completely blur the line between reality and simulation. Processing power at this level would allow us not only to simulate the physical laws of the universe with unprecedented accuracy, but also to recreate the conditions for the emergence of life and even the evolution of mind and consciousness. In such a world, beings would be created who think, feel, and discover their own laws, with their perception of ‘reality’ being nothing more than what has been designed for them.

The real challenge is not whether we can build such a world, but when it will happen and with what level of fidelity. If simulations reach a point where their physical depth, mental complexity, and level of detail are indistinguishable from the real world, then the boundary between ‘base reality’ and ‘simulated reality’ will vanish. At that point, even we would not be able to tell which layer of this infinite chain we are in—reality or simulation.

This vision of the future is not only a scientific scenario but also a profound philosophical question. If simulated worlds gain the ability to reproduce and create new simulations, then what we call ‘reality’ would merely be one of billions of simulations in an endless hierarchy of ‘worlds within worlds.’ At that stage, even the definition of ‘reality’ would have to be rewritten, becoming nothing more than the product of information processing.

Ultimately, the future of quantum technology and artificial intelligence will confront us with a grand duality: will we, upon fully understanding the laws of nature and the mind, become creators of living simulations? Or, somewhere along the way, will we realize that we ourselves have always been part of a far greater simulation? Perhaps both. This future is both thrilling and unsettling—because the very concept of ‘reality’ will be changed forever.

Meta has unveiled a futuristic AI-powered wristband that turns your hand gestures into digital commands—without needing a screen or controller. Using advanced surface electromyography (sEMG) sensors, the device reads your motor nerve signals before your hand even moves, allowing you to control devices with pinches, swipes, and even air-written text at nearly 21 words per minute.

Trained on data from thousands of users, the wristband works instantly—no personal calibration required. Originally designed to support augmented reality, this breakthrough could redefine how we interact with technology, offering hands-free access and major accessibility benefits for users with limited mobility.

China has unveiled a mosquito-sized drone that’s nearly invisible to the human eye.

Built for stealth military operations, it flaps like a real insect, perches silently, and blends into crowded environments.

Developed by the National University of Defense Technology, the drone packs power, sensors, and flight control into a tiny body that mimics real-life bugs. It’s designed for missions where being seen could mean failure, like spying, reconnaissance, or even urban warfare.
