Taki, JH1NKA, recently shared how he’s adapted his Recon40 II for early-morning POTA activations in Japan. His bike-portable setup has helped him work more than 200 U.S. parks, including a P2P with 3Y0K on Bouvet Island!

Final field testing is underway on the Scout XFORM 9:1.

We’ve spent a lot of time developing, testing, and refining this one, and we’re getting very close.

XFORM in progress.

The assembly benches are full as we work through another batch of Scout XFORM systems.

Machined parts, wound cores, hardware, and a whole lot of individual pieces slowly becoming finished XFORMs.

There’s something satisfying about seeing an entire production run spread across the bench before it all comes together.

Back to work.

Scout XF spotted in the wild 👀

KE9CQP was back out at US-1441 Blue Mound State Park in Wisconsin, this time spending the afternoon on 17 meters.

The result? SSB and digital contacts, including an FT8 park-to-park all the way to Japan. 🇺🇸🇯🇵

We love coming across Scout XF systems being put to work in the POTA community. Great setup, great location, and a pretty awesome contact to put in the log.

Proud to put our name on it.

Just finished another batch of ground spikes, and starting with this run, we’re adding the REZ logo.

It’s a small detail, but we take a lot of pride in the parts we make. If it’s going out the door as part of a REZ system, we want it to be something we’re proud to put our name on.

These spikes are designed, manufactured, and tested right here in Texas. 🇺🇸

Every once in a while, one of our earlier Scouts makes its way back to the REZ shop.

This one belongs to a customer who wanted to update his Scout for compatibility with the XFORM system. While we had it on the bench, we took the opportunity to give it a little tune-up before sending it back out into the field.

We don’t currently offer this as a standard conversion service, but when time allows, we’ve been happy to help existing Scout owners make the transition.

One of the things we love about building a platform like Scout is seeing products that have already spent years in the field come back across the same benches where they were built — and leave ready for whatever comes next.

Built to be used. Built to evolve.

XFORM in progress.

A look around the shop as another batch of Scout XFORM components makes its way from machining to final assembly.

Parts coming off the CNC machines, core assemblies taking shape at the benches, and everything gradually coming together into finished XFORM systems.

There are a lot of individual operations behind something that looks so simple once it’s in your pack—and we’re continually refining how we build them to make every XFORM as consistent and reliable as the last.

More headed to the assembly bench soon.

Here’s a message we received from a customer running the Scout XF with the XFORM 4:1 in a delta loop during Field Day:

“Awesome!! Came in clutch during FD. The club I was at didn’t have a 6M antenna, but I was able to make 7 QSOs.”

Sometimes the best station is the one that can adapt.

The flexibility of the Scout XF and the XFORM 4:1 makes it easy to experiment with different antenna configurations and make the most of whatever operating situation you find yourself in.

Support Your Parks Weekend – POTA US-0069 ✅

My third POTA activation of Wrangell–St. Elias National Park (US-0069) is in the books!

I operated from Kendesnii Campground in the northern part of the park during Support Your Parks Weekend.

While the activation spanned 19 hours 47 minutes, I spent about 7 hours sleeping, leaving roughly 13 hours of operating time. Even with the break, it turned into a fantastic activation.

Activation Stats:
📻 176 QSOs
🏞️ 24 Park-to-Park contacts
🌎 21 DX entities
🇺🇸 26 states worked (52%)
📡 5 bands (20m was the workhorse with 124 QSOs)
💻 FT8, FT4 & SSB
🌏 Longest QSO: VK7ACE (Tasmania) – 8,113.7 miles

A couple of highlights from the activation were giving .radio (Ingrid) her first Alaska park contact and making another fun QSO with .radio.

Thanks to everyone who hunted the park, worked the P2P contacts, and helped make this activation another memorable one. Looking forward to the next Alaska adventure!
