📢 Microsoft Outlook Service Disruption

Sometimes the best thing you can do with old technology is give it a second life.

Hands Across Long Island, Inc. (HALI) came to us with a batch of retired laptops, machines that were past their prime for their team, but far from finished. Over the past several weeks, our engineers wiped them, wrote a custom provisioning script, and rebuilt 22 of them on Linux Mint so they could go straight back into service at HALI. Today we delivered them in person.

This is what Techworks Gives Back is all about. Hardware that would otherwise sit on a shelf or head to a recycler gets rebuilt and returned to an organization doing real work in our community. No invoice, no agreement line item-- just a few of our engineers spending time on something worth doing.

This week, members of the Techworks team volunteered with our friends at Long Island Cares, helping sort and pack food for Long Islanders facing food insecurity. By splitting into two volunteer groups, more of our employees were able to participate and support an organization making a tremendous impact in our community.

A huge thank you to Long Island Cares for the incredible work they do every day to fight hunger across our region. We're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their mission and make a small difference alongside an organization that makes such a big impact.

🏴‍☠️ X marks the spot for another successful Big Catch!

Yesterday, clients, partners, and friends joined the Techworks crew for a pirate-themed day on the water filled with fishing, laughter, networking, and a little treasure hunting along the way.
