Three questions we're getting this week about the CMMC suspension, and the straight answers.

Did Phase II go away?
No — it's suspended, not cancelled. Department of War CIO Kirsten Davies paused the third-party C3PAO certification requirement that was set to start November 10, 2026, pending a 60-day Reform Task Force review.

Do I still have obligations?
Yes. Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments, your SPRS score, and DFARS 252.204-7012's safeguarding requirements are all still in force today.

I have a C3PAO assessment already booked — should I cancel it?
Don't cancel automatically. A completed certification still validates your self-assessment score and may still be requested by individual primes independent of the DoD mandate. Review the specific terms with your assessor before deciding.

That's the phased, precise approach we bring to CMMC generally: confirm what's true, confirm what's required, then act.
