My branding client Bespoke Designs - Mary Ellen Hill went ALL in with creating a tangible & memorable experience for her brides! I proposed a photo backdrop idea where brides can take lovely photo at their final fittings. Mary Ellen blew it out of the water. Then I redesigned her brochure to match the new aesthetic. 😍✨

As of this past month, IT’S OFFICIAL! I’m doing exactly what I thought I’d never do. 🤣 I'm my own boss. I’m a full time Brand + Web designer and I still can’t believe I’m saying that out loud.

It’s true… years back, I totally disqualified myself from working for myself. It sounded risky, uncertain, and way too big for little ol’ me.

I’ve worked the same design job for 5 years since graduating college. What I didn’t see coming is how much those five years would bring SO. MUCH. CHANGE. It’s been transformative both personally and professionally.

💎 I learned how to align myself and my work with goals that mattered.

💎 I learned how to exercise my creative autonomy.

💎 I learned how to handle many types of responsibilities and manage my time efficiently.

💎 I learned how to embrace change and be flexible while setting boundaries.

💎 Most importantly, I learned how to actually believe in myself.

Just as much as I value the process of personal evolution, I LOVE helping others do the same— businesses and individuals alike. My focus will be working with businesses who are ready for a refresh, especially in seasons of shifting goals & priorities.

When working with brand clients, sometimes additional business ideas come to mind during my creative process. When I presented a photo wall idea to Bespoke Designs - Mary Ellen Hill, she ran with it and I LOVE how it all came together, branding & colors included! Now her brides can get their photo taken in front of this lovely backdrop during final fittings!

Finally finishing up the last little details of my rebranding decorating. I’m so happy with the palette came up with for my brand. So fresh and modern.

What my 25th year taught me: You will inevitably change, even when you don’t see it in the moment. So don’t be so resistant to the changes you do see. I’ve spent too much of my life afraid of change, only to look back and see that I am naturally an ever-changing being. 💎

Sooo I’ve been doing some thinking... 💭 (as usual). I started this account figuring I’d never show my face, especially in my grid. I didn’t want it to be about me, but simply a place for people to learn, grow, and chat together. The heart of that won’t change.

What I’ve realized since then is that putting a face to a page is actually humanizing. It adds personality and weight to the content. It feels less robotic and more authentic.

So if you’re reading this, hello! Let’s be friends. Let’s wrestle the hard questions together. Let’s commit to learning to better versions of ourselves and accept the necessary change that commitment requires. Let’s keep digging and finding those hidden gems — around & within. 💎
