The #1 mistake I see in art licensing has nothing to do with how good your art actually is.

It’s not your art. It’s the context.

You can have strong typography, incredible line work, great colors, and your work still gets looked over because you forgot to keep this in mind. Licensable work needs to live on a product like a greeting card, mug, tea towel, etc., and if it doesn’t translate, it won’t sell.

If you’re not designing with the surface, the scale, the customer, and products in mind, your beautiful work might never make it past your pitch.It’s an easy fix, just keep the context in mind.
