At FluxData, we understand that the way humans perceive color is not only different from the next but there are also various factors (both external and genetic) that affect this.
"With color vision originally developing in the womb, scientists are now replicating the process and creating lab-grown human retinas. These clusters of cells develop into a 3D structure that looks and acts like a developing retina – ultimately giving insight to how humans get different color-sensing cells in their eyes. Such research could help accelerate cures to color blindness and lead to new treatments for diseases such as muscular degeneration and glaucoma."
This research will not only help benefit humans with such eye diseases but it will also advance the way in which color scientists understand color perception.

Our ability to see colors develops in the womb. Now scientists have replicated that process, which could help accelerate efforts to cure colorblindness and lead to new treatments for diseases.

Researchers from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology investigate making arterial and venous oxygen saturation measurements using FluxData’s FD-1665-MS3 multispectral camera. Successful results would mean that doctors could monitor oxygen saturation in a non-invasive way without requiring any instruments to contact the body.

Interesting read about the mantis shrimp's swivel-eyed system and how it could help in the development of machine vision for robots. "Their eyes contain 16 different types of optical sensors, including ones that detect polarized and ultraviolet light." Researchers suggest that this eye movement could be the basis of a new machine vision system for robots that need to travel fast through rapidly moving environments.
