Websites don't fail all at once. They age.
The photos start looking like a different decade. The plugin that ran the contact form stops being maintained. Something breaks on phones and nobody notices for two months because nobody on staff opens the site on a phone. The person who built it is unreachable. You start apologizing for it in meetings.
We wrote up five signs a site is past due for a rebuild. If you read the list and three of them describe your site, it isn't an emergency — but it is a fall project rather than a next-year project.
