Really awesome vintage JVC Vidstar HR-3600AU early VHS video cassette player!! Apparently it's "combo guitar amp repair season" 🤣 Had this Marshall amp with a dead input jack. Went in and fixed the jack, and good as new! Not a difficult repair, but, man is it great to have this amp back to playability! Now just waiting on the parts for my Crate GLX-212 🤞🤞

And here it is! Largest custom prototype out of RM Repair & Restoration, like 90% finished!! It technically needs a "top" and a "bottom" to enclose the structure, and then finally to glue it together, but, the most important parts are finished 🙂 Any guesses as to what this is? (P.s. for the one person who knows already, don't give it away 🤣) What does it look like to you?

Recently acquired these awesome cash registers!! Clearly they've seen better days but, they're actually worth a few bucks surprisingly 😆 I'm thinking of just cleaning one up a little bit, nothing crazy, and I'll just leave it "relic-d" lol.... but the other one I think I might do some retrobrighting and actually try to restore it to a more "new" appearance 🔄 What do you think? Basic clean or full restoration? Future pics coming soon! 🙂

Part # 2/2 of my biggest prototype to date, and it's coming along very nicely!! Can't wait to unveil the finished product! 😁 Any guesses on what the final product will be? Hint- it's a mirror of the last part, and deals with passive audio amplification 🙃 Very excited to show off the final version!

(P.s. - there was apparently a layer shift on the back portion, but, luckily it didn't destroy the rest of the print, and really has no negative consequence on the prototype as a whole)

Sometimes ya gotta fix your own tools/devices in order to be able to fix other things 🤣 This meter has served me very well in the past 20 years, and it's certainly earned its cost in that time.

Coming from work in the aerospace/medical/commercial industry, you'd be *amazed* at what type of ancient hardware they're still running, due to "legacy technology" 😂 I swear to you, you'd think I'm lying when I tell you that the most advanced high altitude reconnaissance drones being built and used *right now*, still use equipment that functions with Windows XP and FLOPPY DISKS 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So, yea, I'll keep this guy around for a little while longer. Just needed to "beef up" the contacts on the switch wheel and provide some back support for extra pressure for the membrane switches. Basic stuff, but, boy does it feel great not to have to go out and buy a $300 meter just to keep working! 🙂
