Happy Holidays from Richmond Synth Collective! The year may be almost over, but we still have a couple things to share with you before the holidays end.

First is our FREE monthly meetup and open mic at The Reveler, on Saturday Dec 27th from 3-5pm.

Second will be the release of our 2nd Annual Demo Compilation, which will be going live on our bandcamp on the 1st of the year and will be available at no cost. This year's comp boasts 33 tracks made by some incredibly talented musicians in the Richmond area. We hope you enjoy!

Last and absolutely not least, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the artists, venues, collaborators, publications, and friends who have been supporting our mission of building community around electronic music. It's been 2 years now since we started running events, and we have been absolutely blown away by the support and enthusiasm we've received. None of this would be happening without you. Thank you!!!

Dec 11th join us at for a showcase all about Music Tracker Software!

Partly educational, and partly entertaining; we have three artists who will be using various tracker programs to perform idm/breakbeats/jungle followed by a lecture on what tracker programs are, and how you can utilize them yourself to create novel compositions.

Unlike traditional music production software, trackers are spreadsheet-like notation programs that allow for precise and discrete controls over sample playback and parameter changes in your tracks. These kinds of programs are unique and can be intimidating to get into, so if you’re curious about how they work or how to best use them, this show is for you!

This show will also feature live reactive visuals courtesy of

What a great weekend!

Between our 2nd showcase at and Sunday Soundtracks courtesy of , this weekend was full of good times, good friends, and even better music!

We are so proud to be a community for everyone who loves synthesis in Richmond. Weekends like this make it clear that we're not just about the music - we're about people from all walks of life coming together to build up and share in something bigger than ourselves alone.

From the bottom of our hearts: thank you for making the effort to come out and be together with us to enjoy it. And thank you to our incredible performers for sharing your art!

Also, a special thanks to Marc Langelier for performing the visuals for Friday's show. These pictures really don't do justice to the wizardry of video synthesis.

Take care, and in the meantime keep an eye out for our upcoming April meetup announcement!

⚠️NEW⚠️EVENT⚠️
This Friday, January 27th, we will be kicking off our first installment in the RSC Workshop series! These workshops will be a way for the knowledgeable members of our community to share what they know about music, synthesis, electronics engineering, and many other related topics.

Our inaugural event will be tackling the basics of synthesis and making music with electronics. We're going to be going over basic terms and concepts as well as addressing the how's and why's of electronic music. This will be a perfect workshop to attend if you don't know much about electronic music, are just starting out with your first synth, or would like to brush up on the basics.

This is a totally free event and will be held in LOSO's main club room, which can be entered through the Sabai patio to the right of the restaurant. Our event will be from 7-9pm, but if you attend the workshop, you'll also get access to the show they're having that night from 10-2am, so definitely stick around to see Matthew Cha and Marteka Fair!

Special thanks to .music for helping us get this event organized. Hope to see you Friday!

If you're interested in hosting a workshop yourself, please reach out to us on instagram or discord and we'll help you get it on the books.

It's been a long week here in RVA, but we are excited to kick off the first Richmond Synth Collective event this year with our dear friends at the Reveler! As of the time of this post, we're still on for our Saturday meetup, from 2-5pm.

As usual, this event is completely free to attend, and we will be running an open mic from 4-5 so if you have any patches, songs, or projects you'd like to get up on stage and show off we'd love to see it!

This event is all ages. No experience with electronic music necessary. Please bring headphones, cables, and whatever music gear you'd like to bring along!

It's already looking like it'll be an eventful year for the Collective so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events
