In a world where every resume gets run through an ATS and matched against a job description, there may be an easier way than building a brand-new resume for every application.

Building a few resumes as frameworks and grouping them by job title and industry, then focusing on editing your professional summary and keywords pulled from the job posting, may be a better angle.

Leading with the specific skills a job description is requesting and not your full job history may be the way to go.

ATS systems are mostly looking for keywords and clean formatting. You can leave the creative templates and fancy fonts behind.

Career experts and the Glassdoor Community debate how much resume customization matters and what to focus on instead.

Manufacturing may not be the first industry IT professionals consider when planning their next career move, but modern facilities increasingly depend on cloud computing, AI, data analytics, connected devices, robotics, and cybersecurity.

That shift is creating new opportunities for professionals with transferable technology skills - even without a traditional manufacturing background.

Understanding how IT supports industrial operations, particularly where information technology and operational technology intersect, can help candidates stand out in this evolving field.

Simply listing AI tools on your resume isn’t enough. Hiring managers want to know what you’ve accomplished with them.

Show how AI helped you solve a problem, improve a process, save time or produce a measurable result - at work or through a personal project. Then, be prepared to explain your decisions and where the technology fell short in an interview.

Your judgment and the impact you’ve made using AI tools can be what sets you apart from other candidates.

Learn how to effectively showcase your AI experience on your resume, LinkedIn profile or in your next interview.

The tech hiring market is showing signs of life. Job postings are climbing, unemployment in tech occupations is down, and companies that pulled back on hiring due to AI are slowly and selectively starting to bring roles back.

Companies are getting a clearer picture of what they actually need, and it's not new AI-specific job titles. It's more traditional roles like software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and systems design, reimagined for how AI has changed the work. Candidates who understand both the technology and the business it serves are the ones that will stand out.

If you're hiring or job hunting right now, this is worth a read.

The skills employers value most are the ones AI can't replace. New data shows that oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, and deductive reasoning top the list of "durable skills" employers need across every industry.

Workers who treat AI as a collaborator, instead of just delegating to it, consistently outperform their peers. So if you're updating your resume or prepping for interviews, it's not just about listing AI experience. Make sure your resume also highlights your experience guiding AI through reasoning, problem-solving, and communication.

Job searching on your weekend? Here's what to know about timing.

Tuesday through Thursday mornings tend to be prime windows for getting your application in front of hiring managers, since that's when many companies post new openings and recruiters are actively reviewing. Weekend submissions often sit until Monday, buried in a backlog.

That being said, weekends still have a place in your job search. Use the time to polish your resume, get a second set of eyes on your cover letter, or reach out to your network for an informal chat about an open role. If you're applying to a company that uses an applicant tracking system, submission timing matters less since ATS software sorts candidates automatically rather than by inbox order.

Here's what you should know about applying for jobs over the weekend.

Entry-level cybersecurity jobs aren't disappearing, but what employers expect from them is changing fast.

AI is now handling a lot of the repetitive work that used to teach junior analysts the job. Often, new hires are expected to arrive already comfortable with cloud systems, able to write code, and sharp enough to catch it when an AI tool gets something wrong.

That's raising the bar for how people prepare. Candidates don't have to wait to get hired to start building real skills, they can do it on their own through free online training or hands-on practice environments, showing real ability before even landing the job.
