Photo day is basically a very stylish, important meeting. Dress accordingly. 💅 Here's my grooming go-to list for showing up camera-ready:

💇 Hair: Style it exactly how you would for your most important client meeting or a big presentation. This is not the day to try a new style. Wear what makes you feel like you. If you blow-dry, blow-dry. If you air-dry, do that. Authenticity reads beautifully on camera.
🧴 Skin: Moisturizeeeeeee! If you wear makeup, go for a natural, polished look with a matte finish. Shine on skin can be amplified under camera settings and in editing.
🪮 Facial hair: Fresh shave or intentionally groomed. No in-between-day stubble unless that's genuinely your look. Own it either way!
💄 Makeup: Keep it closer to your everyday look so you still look like yourself. Go slightly more defined than usual. Think clean brows, a little extra mascara, a lip color you love. Camera-ready doesn't have to mean overdone.
👓 Glasses: Wear them if you always wear them! Just let me know in advance so I can adjust the lighting to minimize glare.

The goal is simple: look like you walked in from the best day of your life. ✨

Let's talk about what NOT to show up in. You're welcome in advance. 😂

I say this with all the love in the world, but I've SEEN some things. So here's your official "please don't" list for your headshot session:

❌ Large logos, heavy graphics, or brand text, unless it's YOUR brand and it's intentional, skip it
❌ Busy stripes, bold plaid, or intricate patterns: These can cause a camera effect called moiré and honestly just distract from your beautiful face
❌ Ultra-trendy statement pieces. What's hot right now might date your photo in 18 months. Timeless always wins.
❌ Wrinkled clothing. Steam it, iron it, or hang it in the bathroom while you shower. Zero excuses. 😄
❌ Low-cut tops. In a closely cropped headshot, these can look less polished than intended

🖐️ A special note on hair: If you just left the salon with a fresh new cut and color, give it about a week! Short hair especially benefits from a few days of growth to settle into its shape and look like your everyday style, not a fresh-from-the-chair cut. Freshly colored hair, especially freshly done roots, can actually read very warm or high-contrast on camera. The color deposits on your scalp can look quite different from the rest of your hair until it's been washed once. Same goes for fresh highlights. One wash tends to even everything out beautifully. 😍
