Caspar.AI in Chicago! Join us on July 21st at the First Annual Brain Memory Care Conference, sponsored by Senior Housing News in Chicago. Leaders from Caspar.AI, Notify , and The Forest at Duke will discuss the impact of resident nighttime behavior on care planning and community staff.

It’s like the difference between night and day Focus on programming and daytime activity for residents is important, but how does resident behavior in their apartments – when they’re alone – inform care planning for a memory care community’s staff? Because most residents spend more time in...

Health Insights by Caspar.AI provide staff with a more complete picture of a resident's behavior. Even with one less FTE, residents get better care. Especially relevant for Memory Care

These are tough times for retirement community operators - Pressures on financial performance from bankers; pressures to attract and retain qualified staff; and pressure from residents and their family members to at least maintain, if not improve, the quality of life in the community. This "perfect storm" is heightened in memory care where residents are unable to respond - or respond accurately - to staff.

In this Aging and Technology Study, Laurie Orlov talks about how AI is impacting the area of senior living – from voice engagement with Alexa to health & wellness with Caspar.AI.

The smarter home will leverage sensors placed throughout. The smart home continues to be a gaggle of gadgets, useful but uncoordinated. Consider the possibilities of smart homes and seniors or perhaps a smart home subscription service offering The comings-and-goings of products on the shelves of Lowe’s for Aging in Place or Home Depot for Independent Living are begging for guided assistance. Combining voice and AI long-term with a subscription offering will make sense.

REMEMBERING Eric Kreps

Last week Caspar.AI lost a valued team member and co-worker in Eric Kreps. Eric passed away last Wednesday, February 2nd after a sudden illness. Eric leaves his wife Kimberley, two daughters, Sierra and Sadie, and a host of family and friends who are stunned by their loss.

Eric was first and foremost a family man. His weekend forays were legend in the indestructible Toyota, into the unexplored regions of Nevada with Kim and the girls in tow. He could make a grand adventure out of a school bus graveyard or an abandoned cave. The same was true at work - Eric always made the best of any situation he faced at Caspar – Turning challenges into successes.

Many customers have already reached out to us to express their sympathy; at every contact with a customer, Eric made a friend.

Eric’s final gesture was the donation of his organs to save the lives of others. We cannot think of a better way to remember Eric Kreps than to remember the man who did for others before he did for himself.

Gone too soon but never to be forgotten.
