Consumers will hear more about a "liability shift" that takes place in October. The shift puts more pressure on merchants to add chip readers at register. Banks have more incentive to issue chip cards.

PLEASE DO NOT UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 10 NOW

Today Microsoft made Windows 10 available…..We’ve already gotten the first call from someone who wanted to be a 'Pioneer' by performing the Windows 10 upgrade. Her system has frozen, and now she’s anxiously trying to plan her next step, while checking her backups… not a place one wants to end up.

We are helping her through, and have gently reminded her that 'Pioneers get shot!' - don't be a Pioneer!

We have always recommended waiting 6 – 12 months when a new major release of Windows, such as this, becomes available. That will give Microsoft time to address the issues. The early adopters are like 'beta testers'; finding the problems for Microsoft for fix.

Please let us know if you have any questions… otherwise we recommend a hands-off approach to Windows 10 for now.

I'm headed to Dallas on Wednesday for the SPC-International Boot Camp for Managed Service Providers. I've been to them all around the country. They are extremely informative and always fun too. This trip will provide a sampling of Texas BAR-B-Q as well.
