In case anyone else did not know this i haven't been doing scrap metal/recycling for quite some time. I dont have the vehicle to do it anymore and when i quit doing it i was getting a penny a pound for iron. I also dont have the time. At some point down the road i am eager to pick it back up. Thank you everyone.

Well starting to lay the ground work out for scrapping season and I will be mainly focusing on a couple different types of appliances and going after more of the better paying metal such as copper and brass and already under way working on a web design and some new business cards and a couple minor improvements on my trailer including a system that the big heavy appliances will for the most part load themselves. I do realize that between 2 jobs I won't be able to process as much metal this year but I certainly am not going to blow all the metal off either. More updates soon

So in case anyone else has paid attention to scrap metal prices this summer , let me just tell you they are at an all time record low . $20 a ton for iron (washers, dryers, refrigerators etc ) and #2 copper $1.50 a pound let's just to down memory lane a moment, 6 years ago $150+ a ton for iron $4.50 a pound for #1 copper. So I will be keeping a couple of my regular pickups and a occasionally refrigerator which I will have to charge to pick up I am out for the year and doing something else. Thank you to all that gave me stuff to pickup. I have still had some pretty amazing finds/scores this year, learned a bit, and had a blast.

A couple items for sale at very reasonable prices. See photos and ask any questions here. 5000 BTU goldstar window air conditioner $50. Works good. In wall GE monogram electric oven. Very clean and works great. This does not have a cook top range it is just the oven . $40. Vintage trailer lights. See photos for quantity and colors. From 1974. Pretty good condition. $40. Wii balance board. Board only. Works good. $10.

The scrapping season has been very busy so far this year. I have become a better scrapper in a lot of ways and constantly determining new methods to keep making a profit while metal prices are record low . It can still be done, you just have to be very resourceful. Thanks to my friends for support and encouragement

Collecting your broken or unwanted washing machines, dryers, ovens, air conditioners, and microwave ovens for only a $5 per appliance pickup fee in bend, Redmond or terrebonne. You may respond to this post, or text Dan at 5416681932 to arrange a pickup time. Please have appliances as close to curbside as possible and $5 cash per appliance ready at scheduled pickup time. All appliances will be properly recycled.

I am a one man wrecking ball !!! I have been perfecting my trade, and building a trailer that suits my needs to a tee. My goal is to make more from less. I have begun hauling off washing machines and dryers and ovens for $5 per appliance to offset low iron prices

Been getting a few scrapping projects going. Mostly working on smaller projects I don't need alot of space for. Batteries, picked up a car for $100. And yard sale leftovers, and a few other odds and ends. Once its in your blood, its tough to get out of your blood.

Kicking off a recycling season with old batteries. I will collect all 12 volt vehicle batteries regardless of condition. Redmond or bend only for the time being. Clean up all those dangerous batteries on your property today . they will be properly recycled . thank you !!

So I see the future of myself and possiblly other local recyclers with the price of iron at $15 per ton yea you read that right ! Most people that haul a scrap vehicle to the scrap yard end up with an average of $18-22 for the whole car ! We need new ideas better ways to utilize our time, and return this industry to something that if a guy works his butt off can make a little money. I see big city's starting to charge a "fuel" fee and in all honesty people should at least pay for your fuel to pick up the metals. My new ads are going to be a flat $10 for bend or Redmond, $20 for sisters, prineville, and madras. I think it's fair and keeps a little cash coming in.
