That’s a wrap on SMTA Guadalajara Expo & Tech Forum! 🌍

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. The conversations were great, and it was good to see so much interest in programming and security across Mexico’s electronics manufacturing community.

πŸ† A highlight of the week: Data I/O received a 2026 Mexico Technology Award in the Programming category for the LumenX-M4. We’re proud to see LumenX recognized for supporting engineering and NPI teams in the region.

None of this happens without strong partners. A big thank you to Kyle Harder of Rich Sales and Javier Rosas of MMS for joining us at the booth and for the local support they bring to manufacturers across Mexico. It was a great week working alongside them, joined by our Dean LoPresti and James England.

See everyone next year in Guadalajara!

Automated programming at a size that fits. The PSV5000 is built for high-mix, low-to-medium volume environments with the same LumenX performance as larger systems.

β—† Up to 1,300 devices per hour
β—† 160+ MB/s programming, 750 MB/s UFS verify via VerifyBoost
β—† Up to 50% lower cost per programmed part vs. manual programming
β—† Scalable from 1 to 5 LumenX engines as volume grows
β—† Tape, tray, and tube media with integrated laser marking
β—† 99.8% programming yield, production proven

Start with what the line requires. Scale when the volumes demand it.

πŸ“ SMTA Guadalajara Expo & Tech Forum is next week!

The Data I/O team will be at Booth 810 with our channel partners Rich Sales and MMS. We would love to connect with anyone attending.

πŸ“… October 7 & 8, 2026
πŸ“ Expo Guadalajara, SalΓ³n Jalisco, Hall D & E
🌍 Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico

On display at the booth:
➀ PSV automated programming systems for high-volume production
➀ Manual programmers for design, engineering validation, and NPI
➀ ConneX MES integration software
➀ Security provisioning for microcontrollers, flash memory, and security ICs
➀ Programming as a Service (PaaS)

Together, these show how one Unified Programming Platform supports every stage from design through volume production.

Stop by Booth 810 to meet the team and talk programming. See everyone in Guadalajara!

Securing a device isn't a single step. It's a set of coordinated operations that have to happen correctly, in sequence, at the point of manufacturing. Data I/O's Secure Data Provisioning covers each part of that process:

β—† Key injection: symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic keys are injected during programming; keys never exist in plaintext outside the secure boundary

β—† Device identity: unique device identities and X.509 certificates are provisioned at the moment of manufacturing

β—† Firmware authentication: firmware images are signed and verified before programming; only authorized code reaches the device

β—† Secure boot configuration: chain of trust is established from first power-on

β—† Certificate management: full PKI lifecycle including generation, rotation, and revocation

β—† Audit trail: cryptographic proof of what was provisioned, when, and on which device

Every operation is traceable. Every device leaves the factory with a verifiable security record: https://na2.hubs.ly/H07Z9HQ0

Most manufacturers are told there are two ways to give a connected product a secure identity: buy silicon with keys already inside, or build a certificate authority and provisioning operation in house.

Both are real paths, though incomplete.

There is, however, a third point in the process where a device identity can actually be created: the programming step, on the same equipment that already writes firmware.

The debate isn't 'build versus buy', it's finding the one place in the production flow where identity can still be established.

The third option, explained in full: https://na2.hubs.ly/H07Rk8H0

The EU Cyber Resilience Act is not a proposal working its way through committee. It is already in force, with vulnerability and incident reporting obligations live now, and full conformity required by 11 December 2027.

It applies to any connected product sold into the EU market, regardless of where the manufacturer is based. A company headquartered in the US carries the same obligation as one based in Frankfurt, the moment a product ships to a customer in the EU.

Preparing now means building device identity, signed firmware, and secure credential storage into the manufacturing process itself, not adding it after a product has already shipped. Secure data provisioning does exactly that, at the programming step, on equipment already in the production flow.

On this solemn day, we remember those lost on September 11, 2001. This year marks 25 years since the attacks, a milestone with deep personal meaning for our company. Chairman Edward Smith's family was directly impacted that day, and his resilience and continued support for fellow survivors and grieving families have long been an inspiration.

Data I/O joins in honoring the memory of all who were lost and the strength of those who carry it forward.

When production volumes climb, programming throughput has to keep pace.

The PSV7000 is built for exactly that. With up to 112 simultaneous programming sockets, handler throughput of up to 2,000 devices per hour, and LumenX programming speeds exceeding 160 MB/s, it is designed for the most demanding production environments.

VerifyBoost pushes UFS verification to 750 MB/s, keeping high-density storage devices moving without becoming a bottleneck on the line.

β—† Up to 112 sockets across 14 LumenX engines
β—† Up to 2,000 devices per hour
β—† 160+ MB/s program, 750 MB/s verify
β—† 99.8% programming yield, production proven

Trusted by 8 of the top 9 automotive electronics suppliers worldwide.

For decades, device programming meant choosing between two costly options: buy the equipment, or send devices out to a third party. Both come with tradeoffs.

Programming as a Service (PaaS) is a third path. Production-grade programming systems get deployed directly on the manufacturing floor, with billing per device programmed instead of per machine owned.

Swipe through for a look at how PaaS changes the economics, and the security posture, of device programming. ➀
