In todays disposable economy many choose to immediately go out and buy new once something fails. Take this TV for example. For $30 in parts and a little bit of labor, it’s back to brand new and prevents waste as well as is a cost savings compared to buying new. Not all broken items need thrown out!

In this case, one failed backlight led to no picture being produced. If your tv is dark but the sounds and buttons still seem to be working, this likely happened to you.

LONG POST- Read for business background and vision

Well the final steps have been completed, I guess it is time to officially announce Colt's Customs & Repairs LLC. I've been operating privately for about a year now, but I'm at the point to offer services to a wider audience.

For those who don't know me, I've ran sound and lighting (big systems, theaters, etc) since I was in middle school. At that time I also started my own DJ company, Elite Entertainment Events. While I still have all my equipment and the business could pick back up tomorrow, I stopped DJing after I graduated college and began my professional career as a nurse.

Professionally, I now use my nursing experience in combination with my technical background to design medical devices. In my spare time, I have many hobbies that also draw on that experience. While many may look at my list of services and think, "There's no way you can do all that." While I respect that opinion, I would love the opportunity to also prove them wrong. I will soon begin to post pictures and updates of just a few of the projects I have completed over the past year and as I complete more.

Will I ever have a storefront or do this fulltime? Probably not. However if I can continue doing projects I enjoy, while offering my clients fair pricing and quality work, I feel it is a win-win for everyone.
