So your provider is thinking of exiting the enterprise voice business. While that sounds a little scary, you generally get advance notice—but it’s certainly time to start planning. If your organization relies on voice, a few things are worth doing sooner rather than later:
→ Inventory your SIP trunks, local and toll-free numbers, E911, Caller ID/CNAM, and other voice services.
→ Understand your contract and migration timeline.
→ Identify which numbers, applications, locations, and workflows depend on those services.
→ Evaluate number-porting requirements early—especially for large or complex deployments.
→ Ask prospective providers about redundancy, failover, routing flexibility, and migration support.
Most importantly, don’t assume changing your voice provider means replacing your PBX, UCaaS, CCaaS, Microsoft Teams, or other communications platforms.
We put together a guide to the questions enterprise voice customers should ask—and how to use the transition as an opportunity to build better business communications. Read the full blog: https://tinyurl.com/mru32668
