Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computer Support Technician Level 1 to join our IT support team. As a Level 1 Computer Support Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to our clients. You will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, assisting with network troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to user inquiries and technical issues through various channels (phone, email, ticketing system) in a professional and timely manner.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer software and operating systems.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining user accounts and permissions.
- Monitor and maintain the clients’ IT assets, ensuring their proper functionality and security.
- Provide support for audio/video conferencing equipment and other collaboration tools.
- Educate users on basic computer and software usage to enhance their technical proficiency.
- Document all support activities and solutions in our ticketing system for future reference.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and participate in training sessions as required.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Computer Support Technician or similar role.
- Solid understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software components.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Familiarity with basic network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and productivity software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A customer-oriented approach with a passion for providing exceptional user support.
--Some travel to client sites will be required. Gas mileage will be reimbursed at the current per diem rate at the time of travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A relevant degree or certification in IT or a related field.
- Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role.
