Sunday project idea: clean your PC physically.

Dust buildup is one of the most common causes of overheating and PC slowdowns. A can of compressed air and 10 minutes can make a real difference.

Tips:
• Turn off and unplug before cleaning
• Use short bursts of air, not long sprays
• Hold fans in place while blowing (don't let them spin)
• Clean vents, fans, and keyboard

Warning signs your hard drive may be failing:

1. Strange clicking or grinding noises
2. Files randomly disappearing or corrupting
3. Very slow file operations
4. Frequent crashes or freezes
5. Your PC won't boot up

If you notice any of these, back up your data immediately. Don't wait until it's too late.

Ever wondered what 'defragmenting' your hard drive actually does?

Over time, files get scattered across your drive in pieces — that's called fragmentation. Defragging reorganizes them so your PC reads them faster.

If your PC has a traditional hard drive (HDD) and it's been a while, a defrag can speed things up. Note: don't defrag SSDs — it doesn't help and can shorten their lifespan.

Important data safety tip: follow the 3-2-1 backup rule.

3 copies of your data
2 different storage types
1 offsite (cloud or remote location)

Why? Because hard drives fail, ransomware happens, and accidents occur. Having a backup means you don't lose what's important.
