This may get a little lengthy, but I want to show my appreciation:
First and foremost, thank you for your visits through the last year and a half. I appreciate it more than you know. You have become friends and part of my family through this time. I know many of you by first name, and really feel so happy to know we have gotten to serve you this much time.
I also am so thankful to bring the community of Stevens Point and Plover some joy, happiness, gifts (through our Giving Tree), free play at the Childrens museums, our halloween party, the many free lunches we carried, the free gift cards for food last year when SNAP was unfunded, and so much more. I feel so happy that we could do this for you all through this short time.
That said, even with the support we received two weeks ago, which allowed us to stay open a couple more weeks, we have to close this chapter of our lives. The store has become unsustainable moving forward.
I think a lot to do with the economy and the fact that imported snacks and candy just was too pricey to afford for many. I thought I was providing the area with something unique, but sometimes that just doesn't provide consistent business.
We also are in a challenged location that I didn't know was so challenged until after I opened. These things affected us and would continue to affect us through time, as top of mind awareness is so important in retail.
I have learned a lot, made a lot of friends, and grown as a person. Thank you for allowing me to do it with you all for the last year and a half. If you want to stay "hi"... I am still around at Sweet Fire To***co in Plover. I would love to see you sometime. Even if you don't smoke, we do have a lot of cool incense and dream catchers. I probably will be getting one after the week I have had! LOL.
Finally, I cannot forget my incredible teammates Jamie, Joe, Tiff, and Destiny, and fill-ins Sarai, Connor, and Bennett. They kept it running when I wasn't feeling well this spring and during my surgery recovery, and also when I got my job at the smoke shop. I couldn't have done it without them!!
That said, we are going to go out with a bang. I already arranged to get Pizza Ranch to supply some pizzas and desserts (yes even the cookies!), and I will be running the shop Saturday during the celebration, as well as visiting with whomever wants to stop in to say bye. We will also start doing 25% off everything in the shop starting tomorrow. Please come out to support my staff... a portion above payroll I will be splitting between them to help them in their next adventure in their beautiful lives!
Our final day is Sunday. We will be open (God willing my team is still able to work) tomorrow - Saturday from 11-6 and Sunday from 11-3. Everything in the store will be for sale, including the fridge. The freezer we are still figuring out what to do with that.
Thank you again for being such great welcoming people. I will always cherish the memories and your support.
Sincerely Yours,
Jacob & Maggie Brandt (and kids)
