We recently completed a modernization project for one of our own internal tools at **Redbeard Solutions**.

Our time-tracking application started as a simple web app running on a Linux VM. It did its job—but we wanted to make it easier to maintain, deploy, and expand.

We modernized it with a Node.js/Express backend, SQLite local storage, improved time/customer/project management, CSV reporting, Docker containerization, and work toward Home Assistant-compatible deployment.

We also used AI-assisted development throughout the project—not as a replacement for technical experience, but as a tool to accelerate development, troubleshooting, and iteration.
