I'm excited to share that I was a guest on my very first podcast! 🎙️

A huge thank you to my dear friend, Jennifer Ratas, Ph.D. and her wonderful co-host Beth Feldman, Ph.D. for making the experience feel so natural, welcoming, and fun. You made my first podcast appearance one I'll always remember.

During our conversation, we explored how we can better prepare young adults for the workforce with lessons that apply to all of us, whether we're searching for a new job, making a career change, stepping into leadership, or simply trying to grow professionally.

One of the biggest takeaways is that success isn't about trying to fit someone else's mold. It's about becoming more self-aware, understanding your unique strengths and values, and having the confidence to trust your own inner wisdom. When you know who you are and lead from that place, you're better equipped to make meaningful career decisions and create a path that's authentically yours.

If you're navigating a transition, supporting a young adult entering the workforce, or looking to grow your career or leadership skills, I hope you'll give it a listen.

And thank you again, Jen and Beth, for inviting me and making this milestone such a positive experience! 💙 I wish I’d had the guidance and support of your podcast when my kids were younger. I highly recommend it to anyone navigating the ups and downs of being a parent!

✨ Women in leadership, it’s time to stop putting yourself last. ✨

So many talented, driven women spend their days supporting everyone else — their teams, families, and organizations — but rarely make time for their own growth and well-being.

As a leadership coach, I help women strengthen confidence, overcome imposter syndrome, and lead with clarity and purpose — without burning out in the process.

If you’ve been thinking, “I need to prioritize myself, too,” now’s the time. Learn more about my coaching programs here: www.choicetrainingandcoaching.com

✨ Leadership coaching has the power to create ripple effects far beyond the individual.

☺️ I was honored to receive this testimonial from an executive coaching client.

When leaders grow in self-awareness and confidence, their teams thrive too — even without direct coaching.

That’s the true impact of leadership development. 🌱

10 Ways to Support the Women in Your Organization During Women's History Month and Beyond

Last year, I shared these tips: https://www.choicetrainingandcoaching.com/post/copy-of-10-ways-to-support-the-women-in-your-organization-during-women-s-history-month-and-beyond on how to support women in the workplace, and they’re just as relevant today, probably even more so.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s a great time to reflect on how we can uplift and empower the women in our organizations—not just in March, but all year long.

Whether you’re leading an organization, managing a department, or working as part of a team, small actions can make a big impact. Let’s commit to fostering a culture where women feel valued, heard, and supported.

How is your organization recognizing Women’s History Month this year? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear what’s working for you!

Helping Leaders Thrive ✨

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing clients gain clarity, confidence, and tangible strategies to become stronger leaders. Coaching isn’t just about theory—it’s about real transformation, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to support amazing professionals on their leadership journeys.

This testimonial truly means so much to me. Seeing a client walk away feeling empowered, self-aware, and ready to lead with renewed perspective is why I do what I do!

💘 Show Your Team Some Love This Valentine’s Day!

This Valentine’s season let’s talk about the heart of great leadership—Encourage the Heart. When was the last time you truly recognized your team’s efforts? How do you celebrate their victories?

Research shows that teams thrive when they experience at least five positive interactions for every negative one. Meaningful recognition creates a culture of appreciation, boosts morale, and drives success.

Encourage the Heart is one of the five practices of exemplary leadership drawn from The Leadership Challenge program. In workshops or coaching sessions, we’ll explore:

💖 How to recognize contributions in a meaningful way
💖 The power of personalized appreciation
💖 Creating a spirit of community that fuels engagement

Let’s make sure your team feels valued—not just on Valentine’s Day, but every day.

Ready to lead with heart? Let’s connect!

For ideas on how to lean into this leadership practice with all of the important people in your life, read my blog: https://www.choicetrainingandcoaching.com/post/valentine-s-day-is-almost-here

As Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaches, it’s a perfect opportunity to reflect on one of the most compelling visionary speeches of the 20th century: Dr. King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech during the March on Washington.

One of the five practices of exemplary leadership within The Leadership Challenge framework is “Inspire a Shared Vision.” This typically is the most challenging leadership practice to master. Why? Because so few of us have ever experienced a truly inspiring, visionary speech—whether at work or in life.

In my leadership coaching and training programs, I guide leaders to analyze this historic speech to uncover the elements that make it so impactful. These elements include:

Use of vivid imagery
Creating a sense of inclusion
Speaking with passion
Making it personal
Citing credible sources
Repetition for emphasis
Maintaining rhythm
Appealing to shared values and common interests
Using relatable examples
Acknowledging challenges but ending with hope
Shifting from “I” to “we”

Now imagine how incorporating these elements could transform your next town hall, all-hands meeting, departmental meeting, or even a 1-on-1 conversation.

If you’re ready to craft speeches that inspire and unite your team around a shared vision, I’d love to help. Let’s work together to elevate your leadership communication skills.

Reach out to me if you would like to schedule a session or learn more.

😁 I was excited to have the opportunity last week to facilitate a training on Emotional Intelligence for the employees at Teachers Federal Credit Union.

I enjoyed the warm welcome back as well as the energy and enthusiasm of the entire team!

✅ Here are a few key takeaways from my talk:

· Success in the workplace (and in life) relies more on EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient) than IQ.

· The good news is while our IQ doesn’t change that much at this point, our EQ can continually develop and grow.

· As daily work life continues to become more stressful, recognizing how emotions impact work performance has never been more important.

· Mindfulness can widen the gap between stimulus and response.

· Among other things, Emotional Intelligence can help us:

- become aware of our reactions to others
- manage our moods at work
- navigate and adapt to change
- take initiative
- have more confidence
- be a better team player
- be a more effective leader

· The higher you go in an organization or your career, the more important your EQ is.

I was thrilled to hear what an impact this program had on attendees and to see how appreciative everyone was. Many came up to me after the program committing to putting new strategies they learned into place and using them to build a stronger team. As usual, developing a meditation practice was at the top of the list 😊.

Many thanks to Gyll Gates Sbrocchi and Adriana Perciballi Mortgage Loan Officer NMLS #64552 for introducing me to the group and hiring me again for this fun and memorable experience.

DM me if you would like a copy of my tips for getting better sleep or my mindfulness resource flyer.

The Power of Listening for Leaders

💡Tips & Tools for Better 1:1s

As leaders, we often focus on providing guidance, but it's essential to remember that we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Active listening is one of the most valuable tools in a leader's toolkit—it builds trust, fosters open communication, and enables us to truly understand the needs of our teams.

Here are a few quick tips to strengthen your listening skills:

1- Be Fully Present: Give your full attention and remove distractions. Your team members will notice and appreciate it.

2- Ask Open-Ended Questions: Encourage deeper responses by asking questions that require more than a simple “yes” or “no.”

3- Listen Without Interrupting: Resist the urge to jump in with solutions or feedback too soon. Let them finish their thoughts.

4- Reflect and Clarify: Repeat back key points to ensure you
understand and show that you value their input.

5- Embrace Silence: Sometimes deeper insights bubble up when we give others the space of silence in a conversation.

Want to improve your 1:1 conversations? I’m happy to share some sample questions designed to foster open dialogue. Just DM me to request them!
