We are looking for radio techs, electronics designers, and anyone skilled in the hobby of radio electronics to combine our talents into a venture to utilize our talents for monetary purposes in our region. Some of us may utilize LTSpice and MMANA GAL as well as EZNEC software to aid in the design and analysis of electronic circuits and antennas, this skill is however not required if you know how to use a calculator.

This simple circuit concept can be used to convert a 600-ohm handheld magnetic cartridge microphone to a voice band filtered 9 dB power microphone. And it can also be used to replace the circuitry inside an old D104 to use a 600-ohm cartridge microphone inside the D104 head. Everyone involved in the hobby of shortwave radio, eventually tend to find and settle down with listening to certain stations, and sometimes those stations come from near to the same areas of the world. The regional aspect of such stations in selection, are selected according to language or content such as regional news, or cultural music from those select locations. In the featured photo above, we see a circuit diagram of the Franklyn VFO, as drawn by Michael J Murphy WU2D. Note the interesting way of controlling the VFO level by way of Q3. This VFO concept comes to us from the vacuum tube era, when vacuum tube heat caused a lot of VFO drift. Even with low powered transistors, thermal drift is still present and must be controlled....
