DownDetector.com, which monitors online complaints about technology outages, saw a spike in the number of users reporting problems texting and calling starting at about 9:30 a.m. ET.

Many people reported being stuck in SOS mode on their phone, unable to send messages or place calls.

Verizon did not immediately appear to acknowledge any outages on their social media channels, and their network status website was not loading as of 10:30 a.m. A Verizon spokesperson has since confirmed "an issue impacting service for some customers."

"Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue," the spokesperson told FOX Television Stations.

Think Twice When Installing Apps 👇👇👇
▪️Install apps only from trusted sources to maintain your devices’ cleanliness and security.
▪️Excessive unused apps and background services can negatively impact device performance and battery life.
▪️For company-owned devices, it is advisable to only install approved apps.

If you own a business and would like to gain a better understanding of the security of your network, we’d be happy to set up a detailed Network Audit.

Auditing is the process in which we test all of the physical, technical and administrative components within a technology environment on a network.

Once complete, we will report how well each is working and whether or not change is needed. The findings of this process are critical to the process of designing a strong security policy.

This process is beneficial for any business owner/manager concerned about the security and SAFETY OF their INTERNAL DATA and that of their TRUSTED CUSTOMERS and clients.

Why is cable management important?
•Cable management not only provides you with a clean and more organized business space, it can also extend the life and maximize the performance of your cables! Cords that are allowed to pile up on the floor or hang slack behind equipment are likely to suffer damage from crushing or sagging.
•When it comes time to replace or perform routine maintenance on network equipment, the last thing you’ll want to be faced with is digging through a web of identical cables to find the one you need!

Should I have a firewall?
Yes!

Even if you feel your network is secure, you should still use a firewall. A firewall is an electronic barrier that blocks unauthorized access to your computers and devices, and is often included with comprehensive security software.

Using a firewall ensures that all of the devices connected to your network are secured, including Internet of Things (IoT) devices like smart thermostats and webcams. This is important since many IoT devices aren’t equipped with security measures, giving hackers a vulnerable point of entry to your entire network.
