There’s never going to be a perfect time to start a new project—you just have to get started.

Beginning a custom website project can seem overwhelming. It’s a lot of work, time, and money.

But I’ll be there every step of the way, helping with the heavy lifting.

When I first started this business, I didn’t even have a website. All I had was an Instagram page and a PDF document I made.

In my mind, a custom website was too much work. I needed to focus on client projects and booking new clients.

I didn’t know where to begin with designing a website for myself because my business was so new. I was still figuring everything out.

The thing is, a website could have helped me with all of that.

A website could have streamlined client projects and admin work that was taking up too much of my time. A website could have helped me find and book new clients because I would have had a digital home that was searchable on Google. A website could have given my new business the established and professional look I was trying to figure out.

Once I finally started, I was mad at myself for not doing it sooner because it could have saved me so much time and headache.

I realized a website is like the roadmap of your business.

You can clearly define all your services, policies, and share your brand with the world—all in one place.

Having a website solved many of the problems I faced when starting my business.

This past week, I’ve been deep into designing a new website, and it’s coming together beautifully! After finalizing the creative direction with a moodboard, colors, and fonts, I moved on to the sitemap, carefully mapping out each page and its content. Once the sitemap was solidified, I started developing the wireframe—the stage we’re currently in.

These sneak peeks offer a glimpse of what’s shaping up to be an inspiring website, one that will motivate those feeling lost to make a positive change. The wireframe process involves experimenting with different design and navigation ideas to find the perfect flow. At this stage, you’ll see more placeholder text and images since it’s all about laying out the structure for an exceptional user experience.

As the wireframe comes together, I wanted to share it with you and take you along on this journey of designing and developing Lauren’s new website. Once I’ve refined the wireframe, I’ll send it to Lauren for feedback, and then we’ll move into development, testing, and finally—launch!

Story Time... 🌟
Let me take you back to the first website I ever designed—The Webb Of Life. Sue-Ellen, the founder, was my life coach during my senior year of college. She guided me as I navigated the big question: What’s my purpose? With her support, I discovered my passion for the fashion industry and landed a role managing the e-commerce site and digital marketing for a local boutique.

Fast forward a few years, and I was ready for a change, but I had no clue what that looked like. Then, Sue-Ellen reached out, ready to take her business online. She asked if I could build her website, and without hesitation, I said yes. Only then did it hit me—I had never designed a website from scratch before. New digital home for Trauma Informed Project 💙💚

Yesterday we launched the website for Trauma Informed Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting humans, animals, and the planet affected by trauma.

The goal of this website is to educate people about the effects of trauma on humans, animals, and the planet, encouraging them to make a donation or join a volunteer list to help the Trauma Informed Project achieve its mission as a non-profit organization. The president of the organization wanted something bold and memorable for the audience. We used the brand colors—green, blue, and black—along with video clips of wildlife, humans, and the planet to engage the audience and provoke thought about the website’s topic. Our aim was to guide users on an educational journey, helping them learn not just about the organization and its goals but also the long-lasting effects of trauma.
