🏗️ Reinforced Concrete Dome Design - Graduation Theses

This project focuses on the design and structural analysis of a monolithic reinforced concrete dome with a diameter exceeding 50 meters, developed for a public utility building in Katowice, Poland.

The structure features a central glazed skylight that provides natural daylight to the interior. The skylight is covered by a smaller reinforced concrete dome supported by columns, creating a distinctive architectural and structural solution.

Advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was used to evaluate the behavior of the structure and optimize the design of individual elements. The dome is supported by reinforced concrete walls transferring loads to strip foundations, ensuring safety, stability, and durability.

The entire project was developed in accordance with Eurocode standards and includes load calculations, structural analysis results, cross-section verification, and detailed design documentation.

🚉 Train Shed Roof Renovation — Munich Central Station 🇩🇪

One of Germany's most complex structural projects is happening right now and thousands of passengers walk underneath it every single day.

Werner & Balci GmbH is carrying out a full renovation of the wide-span train shed roof at Munich Central Station, commissioned by Deutsche Bahn AG. The catch? The station stays open throughout the entire process. 🏗️

🔩 Automatic Dimensions for End Plate Connections 📏

When a peer reviewer opens a connection design report, the first thing they need is clarity. If the geometry of an end plate connection is not dimensioned directly in the report images, they will either request additional documentation or spend time cross-referencing the numbers themselves.

👉 The latest update to the Steel Joints add-on for 6 addresses this directly: automatic dimensions for the End Plate component. In the component input dialog, a Dimensions item is added to individual connection elements, letting you enable or disable automatic dimensioning for each one.

The end plate component, including its dimensions, can be exported directly to the printout report. Individual dimensions are fully editable: you can delete them or adjust their offset as needed. ✅💡
