This Wednesday we wrapped up a quick battery replacement on a Dell Latitude 3500. In and out, no drama and the laptop is running like new again.

Today. 😅 Hackers don't guess your password, they buy leaked ones from data breaches and try them everywhere. 🚨PSA🚨: If someone calls you claiming to be from Microsoft or Apple, calling about your device - hang up immediately.

Tech support scams are one of the most common ways criminals steal money and information from unsuspecting people. Usually, they'll call you and claim to be from some major company, working as tech support. They'll say that your computer has a virus, your account has been compromised, etc. Then, they ask you to give them remote access to your device, or verify your banking or personal information.

None of this is real.

Major companies will NEVER call you unprompted regarding a problem with your device. If you get one of these calls, hang up immediately, do not give them remote access to anything, do not give them any payment info. If you already did, call your bank right away.

We Fixed It Wednesday - Faulty Daughter Board

This Wednesday, we had a customer bring in a laptop that has had persistent issues with keys not working, and it would boot into BIOS, even after replacing the keyboard. We did multiple rounds of testing, where we concluded the issue was stemming from the daughter board. Since the palm rest was both cheaper and easier to source, we replaced the entire palm rest assembly. The result? A laptop that was back to functioning just how it should've been.
