of Libra and the harvest of the years bounty.

I will travel up to the high country soon and
recharge my life's energy in preparation for
the coming season.

In my continual search for happiness and abundance that I know
exists, I have learned much about my thoughts and how my
thinking influences my moods and actions. A mind in conflict
will never know peace and joy. To understand oneness and the
comfort and certainty that it brings is to exist in total awareness.

Here is an excerpt from Lesson 96 of A Course in Miracles :

Although you are one Self, you experience yourself as two; as both good and evil, loving and hating, mind and body. This sense of being split into opposites induces feelings of acute and constant conflict, and leads to frantic attempts to reconcile the contradictory aspects of this self-perception. You have sought many such solutions, and none of them has worked. The opposites you see in you will never be compatible. But one exists.

The fact that truth and illusion cannot be reconciled, no matter how you try, what means you use and where you see the problem, must be accepted if you would be saved. Until you have accepted this, you will attempt an endless list of goals you cannot reach; a senseless series of expenditures of time and effort, hopefulness and doubt, each one as futile as the one before, and failing as the next one surely will.

The future looks bright from the Light of the present moment.

This is my new Mantra. My challenge is to always remain in
the Present Moment. When I find myself worrying about all
of the self-imposed "problems" that I have created, all I need
to do is return to the Light.

Lately, I have been spending alot of time thinking about time.
I have learned that the future and the past are simply "illusions".
In the same way that a dream is only real when we are asleep
and we believe the dream that we are dreaming.
But , what about the "present time". Is it also an illusion?
When Ram Dass said, "Be here now" he wasn't saying that the
present time is real, he was simply pointing to the fact that the
only time that matters is the infinite and timeless present moment.
Can you see the difference?
In the un-conscious state, the human mind can not tell the difference
between the past, the future or even the present. It is too attached to
the "illusion" of reality. The "story" that becomes reality has no relationship
to the actual "truth" of the present moment.
Why not create a new "story" and live the way that, before now, you could
only dream about?
Here is an excerpt from an inspirational teacher that I have just recently
discovered:
......." You need to be fully present now while taking actions and thinking thoughts that will lead your life in the direction you want it to go in the future.
It's like the old Zen saying: The path is the goal.
Time does not exist. Quantum physics is proving what sages of every religion have taught for millenniums: Present, past, and future are dreams.
In truth we shouldn't even live -for- the present. The present is no more real than the past or future."

What is it about meditation that is so valuable? Why is it important to
find the stillness and peace that exists deep within our consciousness?
I believe that the search for the answers to these questions is fundamental
to finding our true purpose and calling in this life.
In the words of one of my favorite spiritual teachers, Jiddu Krishnamurti:

" Happiness does not come into being when you seek it;
it is a byproduct, it comes into being when there is goodness,
when there is love, when there is no ambition,
where the mind is quietly seeking out what is true."

Thought I would post an excerpt from Lesson #32 of
my A Course In Miracles workbook.

"I have invented the world I see.

Today we are continuing to develop the theme of cause and effect. You are not the victim of the world you see because you invented it. You can give it up as easily as you made it up. You will see it or not see it, as you wish. While you want it you will see it; when you no longer want it, it will not be there for you to see.

The idea for today, like the preceding ones, applies to your inner and outer worlds, which are actually the same. However, since you see them as different, the practice periods for today will again include two phases, one involving the world you see outside you, and the other the world you see in your mind. In today's exercises, try to introduce the thought that both are in your own imagination."

The idea is that the world that we see and perceive is an illusion
created by our conditioned mind. When we realize this we come
closer to the awareness of "vision" as distinctly different from
ordinary sight. Our true reality is seen by the observer who is
aware of this illusion.

My good friend is headed for Guatamala later ths
month. He told me that the weather is always perfect,
so I checked the temperature today. For this day,
July 4th, the current temp is 65 degrees F, and the
warmest it has ever been is 80 degrees F. Sounds
