Breezy day up high yesterday servicing camera systems for a client. UV and wind/ice damage takes their toll on these systems, so replacement is sometimes in order.

Small but essential cabling project on a new build. Believe it or not, there was a cable modem/router in this media cabinet as well 😬. Terminated/traced/tested cabling throughout the home, organized the cabinet, temporarily relocated the modem/router to a more central location until the better equipment arrives.

Major tech upgrades for Zoar Lutheran Church over the recent months as we gear up for new capabilities: Upgraded internet speeds and re-terminated phone wiring to support live-streaming and VoIP phones, installation of VoIP phone services, installed additional network data wiring, switches and WiFi access points into previously unwired areas, installation of 30x optical zoom PTZ IP camera and related wiring. The camera is the foundation of the streaming system, which we’ll be configuring and installing in tandem with a new digital mixer. Grateful for the opportunity to bring these projects online!

Today we honor NASA’s first black female engineer and a “hidden figure,” Mary W. Jackson. In 2021, the NASA headquarters building was named for Jackson, and she received the Congressional Gold Medal along with her colleagues. You can read her bio here: https://go.nasa.gov/3wWFE0H

Certain bugs 🐞 are attracted to infrared light, spiders 🕷 are attracted to bugs, and security cameras have night vision enhanced with infrared LEDs. This results in useless night vision capabilities, and then requires an articulating boom lift to clean the cameras. No spiders were harmed, I didn’t get bit (so, no potential for superpowers), and the right gear makes for a safe and efficient project!

When your building has steel walls, a steel roof, and concrete block office spaces, cell coverage can be a challenge. Digital Solutions partnered with ANS to provide the planning, installation, and configuration of a multi-antenna cell repeater system compatible with several bands and carriers.
