Good news: We are back behind the counter this weekend! Bad news: You might have to watch me drop a plate or two while we get back into the groove. Thank you all for your patience during our short break.

To be transparent with our cafe family, I was recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. It explains the swelling and pain I've been dealing with for a while. The good news is that I have a treatment plan, and once the meds kick in, it should translate to much more consistency at the cafe.

The short-term challenge is that my hands aren't quite cooperating like they used to, making some tasks painful and turning me into a bit of a butterfingers. I'm adapting as fast as I can, and I deeply appreciate you all giving us a little extra grace and breathing room while I do.

A couple of scheduling and hiring updates:
🍕 No dinner tonight, but dinner returns next Friday (8/21) for a Back to School Pizza Party with live music from Frank and Chris!

👋 We are still working on hiring to replace our student staff. If you or someone you know wants to join the team, please send over a resume or work outline!

hey folks,

sorry for the delay in communication. I haven't been feeling well and I had been resting in the hopes of recovering in time for the weekend. Unfortunately that didn't go exactly as I had planned.

so due to my limited capacity in combination with staff unavailability we will be closed this wknd so that I can manage some of the cafes other obligations such as the farmers market and the school board retreat.

we hate to disappoint and we already purchased all of our supplies for the weekend, so it's not really an ideal situation, but working by myself while dealing with illness is not something I want to torture myself with 🫣

The plan is to be open next weekend for coffee and pastries (including ✋ 🥧) ✌️💜

Lyd and her mom, Linda, had already agreed to work the farmers market for me 😍 so look out for the Peacham Cafe at the Peacham Farmers Market! we will have cookies, blueberry sweet corn coffee cake, some premade sandwiches and salads, and coffee drinks 🫡
