If you ever receive an email, phone call, text message, or any type of communication where the person is trying to rush you into making a decision — assume it is a scam. In nearly every case, urgency is the tactic used to bypass your judgment.
Be especially cautious if someone:
* Pressures you to act immediately
* Asks for remote access to your computer, tablet, or phone
* Demands payment right away
* Claims a family emergency (such as a child in an accident) and asks for money
These are classic scam indicators.
Legitimate organizations do not operate this way. They do not create panic, demand instant action, or request sensitive access without proper verification.
If something feels off, trust that instinct.
You are always welcome to contact Paso Robles Tech for a second opinion. We are happy to review suspicious messages or requests and help you determine whether they are legitimate.
For example, one of the latest scams I encountered this week was a Venmo request that appeared legitimate at first glance but had nothing to do with Venmo at all.
When in doubt, pause. Verify. Ask.
