🚨 ATTENTION MISSOURI SPECTRUM CUSTOMERS: Are you actually getting the upload speeds you pay for? (Hint: Probably not.) 🚨
As a local IT and hosting provider, we rely on stable, high-speed infrastructure. Over the last month, we have forensically documented a severe, systemic bottleneck in Spectrum’s local network that they are actively trying to hide from consumers.
If you are paying for their upgraded "High-Speed" upload tiers, there is a very high probability your connection is fundamentally broken at the neighborhood node level due to failing legacy infrastructure.
HOW THEY HIDE IT:
When Spectrum technicians troubleshoot your line, they rely on speed tests configured for "Multi-Connection" testing. This opens multiple parallel data streams simultaneously, which temporarily tricks their network traffic controllers into opening the floodgates so the dial hits the advertised speed. They point at the screen, blame your equipment, and close the ticket.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU (In Plain English):
This bottleneck chokes out anything that relies on a single, sustained connection. While things like basic online gaming or multi-file downloads (like torrents) might run fine, the everyday tools you actually need to function will constantly fail. You will experience:
* Limited VPN Connections: All VPN connections are overall limited to 50 Mbps when you're supposed to be getting symmetrical speeds. If you are linking to a VPN and require sending a lot of data, forget it. You might as well go to your local fiber company.
* Broken Video Calls: Skype, Zoom, or Teams stuttering or dropping out—especially if your kids are online at the same time.
* Security Camera Lag: Viewing multiple high-def home security cameras remotely will constantly buffer or time out.
* Failed Uploads: Sending large video files or syncing work data takes forever or flat-out fails.
Don't take their word for it. Test your raw, real-world connection yourself using diagnostic tools that do not use multi-connection tricks:

Spectrum trains their field techs to use this site because the default "Multi" connection setting mathematically masks the physical failure of their copper lines.
This is a widespread infrastructure failure that they are trying to push under the rug with redundant truck rolls and manipulated diagnostic tests. We are not letting this go.
