Got Ransomware?

Some versions can be decrypted by Kaspersky's RannohDecryptor tool:

Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Rannoh
Trojan-Ransom.Win32.AutoIt
Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Fury
Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Crybola
Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Cryakl
Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Crypt###

Read Kaspersky's "Help" page to see if one of the versions above is installed on your PC. If one is, you can use their tool to get your files back.

Not "Tech Savvy"? Then you may end up taking your PC to a professional to have it fixed. In that case it may cost you as much as the ransom! Then you'll have to decide who gets your money? The good guys or the bad guys.

The worldwide web is the main source of malware. Malware can pe*****te your computer as a result of the following actions:

It's the fourth patch so far this year that's hit all versions of Windows.

Not that data caps are good but at least they are tripling the amount you can use. Don't get me wrong I'm still opposed to data caps in every way, shape and form.

Comcast is raising data caps to 1TB in all areas of the US that it's currently limiting internet usage. It's a huge increase, pushing the limit up from today's 300GB limit, which customers could...

Microsoft limits your choices.

Microsoft is shutting out Google and Firefox with Cortana on Windows 10. But there's a good technical reason.

Never give out your personal info. The IRS will not call you, they will send you a letter.

When in doubt contact the IRS directly!

The IRS continues to warn consumers to guard against scam phone calls from thieves intent on stealing their money or their identity. Criminals pose as the IRS to trick victims out of their money or personal information. Here are several tips to help you avoid being a victim of these scams:

It's here to stay and it WILL happen to some of you. Make sure you're ready just in case you're the ONE!

Some ways it could happen to you:

1. By children or you clicking on links or email attachments from unknown or questionable sources thereby compromising your computer resulting in encrypted work files, family photos and any other data stored on your hard drives.

2. Employees clicking on links or email attachments from unknown or questionable sources thereby compromising their terminal and possibly the servers on your network resulting in encrypted work files.

How to protect yourself:

1. Backup your files (Not Windows backup)
Place your backup files on a hard drive NOT connected to your computer or network

2. Think twice. Don’t open links or attachments from people you don’t know.

3. Use a web advisor. Hackers use malicious websites to spread ransomware.

4. Install security software such as Kaspersky Total Security and Malwarebytes.

MalwareBytes is working on Anti "Ransomeware" software. It is in "BETA" right now but you can download and use it for free while it is still being tested. My thoughts are "It can't hurt to run it, Even if it only catches a few, it might stop one THE ONE you activate accidentally"

A new flavor of ransomware, similar in its mode of attack to the notorious banking software Dridex, is causing havoc with some users.

Comcast doesn't want to lose their spot as "The Most hated Company in America!"

Comcast has done plenty of things to frustrate subscribers over the years. In fact, some of the company's recent moves are bad for all of us , not just for its own subscribers. The latest customer complaint making the rounds might be one of the most frustrating ones we've seen though, namely
