Ever go through your downloads folder and wonder exactly where you downloaded a file from?

macOS has an easy way to tell! Just select a file, then go to the 'File' menu and select 'Get Info' (you can also use the Cmd + i keyboard command with a file selected).

A window will pop up with all kinds of useful information - and, in this case, a spot titled 'Where from:' which will give you the URL the file originated from.

This can be useful to remember what a cryptically named file is, or better yet, to validate that a file came from the site you expected it to.

GCI is ending their email service. Do you use an Apple device? We can help!

GCI plans to pull the plug on their email service by mid-2024. That's a year away, but we thought you'd appreciate a heads up since we've noticed you're using a GCI email address.

Important dates:

September 20, 2023 is when GCI will start charging $4.99/month extra to keep their service.

Mid 2024 is when GCI will sunset their email once and for all; they have no set date yet, though they remark they will give a 6 month warning.

Switching email providers might sound like a pain, but don't worry - we're here to help you sail through this change smoothly.
