⚠️ Key Fob Not Working? Don’t Panic.
I walked up to my vehicle today in the Sam’s Club/Walmart parking lot and the key fob wouldn’t unlock the doors or open the trunk.
While there can be several causes—including a weak battery or radio interference—criminals have been known to use signal-jamming devices in parking lots to interfere with keyless-entry systems.
If your key fob suddenly stops working:
✅ Do NOT stand there repeatedly pressing the button.
✅ Remove the physical key from the fob and unlock the door manually.
✅ Once inside, start the vehicle normally if possible.
✅ Pay attention to your surroundings and report suspicious activity to store security or local law enforcement.
Repeatedly pressing the button can create confusion about whether the issue is a dead battery, interference, or something else.
The safest approach is simple: use the mechanical key, get in the vehicle, and move on.
