Because, as you probably are aware, it's been ages since any activity has happened at this URL.

Next week in Tampa! We'll be showing off the new Vienna Acoustics Mozart Signatures in Room 223.

The latest from the team in Austria received its North American debut at last November's Capital Audio Fest and we were on hand to assist the team at Playback Distribution. The sound was sensational.

The sonic "elephant in the room" is that the 223 system is out of budget balance... DAC and Integrated ring in at $28K while the Mozarts retail at only $7,500. This is the main reason we wanted to have them in our Palm Coast studio where, before or after the Florida show, you can audition them on our reference front end (DSA, Weiss, VPI, Ortofon, Luminous), with the Advance Paris MyConnect 250 or even on a bargain basement set up. In any case, these elegant floor-standards deliver a no-compromise listening experience.

Time and Tide wait for no man... even Doug Hurlburt:

Dear fellow audiophiles,

As they say, "to every thing there is a season", and I have decided that the "season" for DSA has come to an end. It has been 20 fun years of designing, developing, building, and even selling audio equipment. I still remember when it started with a dare from my good friend Rich Hollis, who challenged me to "build my own damn phono preamp" (he was tired of listening to my "tweak of the week" on the commercial unit I was using at the time). Thanks Rich. I would not have done it without you.

While Dynamic Sounds Associates will wind down over the next few months, I still will be available for repairs and questions when needed. I will also support my indefatigable sales and marketing director, David Sckolnik, who will continue to manage sales of remaining inventory through à la carte productions. The DSA web page will be ported over to the à la carte website (www.alc-pro.com) [(www.dynamicsounds-assoc.com remains active for now)]. What a sound! Playback Distribution's Room 657 in the Rockville Hilton punched way over its class at the Capital Audio Fest thanks to the brand, spanking new and brilliant Vienna Acoustics Mozart SE Signature, the luxurious Java Carbon Double Shot Integrated Amplifier, and the versatile Esoteric N-05XD Network DAC/Preamplifier. It was also a real asset to go analogue at times with the Teac TN-5BB loaded with the Ortofon 2M Bronze. Señor Sckolnik made sure the tunes kept the crowds in wonder. Back to Florida now, but these new stars will head south in short time...

We have a new Reference!

Very lucky here in Palm Coast post- Milton. Power was uninterrupted, water invasion minimal.

Broken in and oblivious to all the goings-on-about are our new pair of Cantons- the Reference 2. At a cool 20k, they have shored-up the minor weaknesses that our previous Reference 3K might have had and take on the competition's efforts in the under 60k range with ease.
