Here are some images I took while repairing Todds iPhone.
The first pic is the letter Apple sent back with his phone.
The second pic, is what awaited upon opening the phone. Notice Apple was kind enough to place a small red arrow where the "unauthorized modification" was located. This is actually where an authorized Apple technician ripped the display cables clean off of the phone.
The third picture is of a damaged tri-wing screw. Please remember this phone was never opened before being sent to Apple. So, more damage from Apple.
And in the fourth picture, look what greats us once that damaged screw was finally removed. The rest of the cables that were ripped off are simply gone.
Apple is trying very hard to make it as difficult as possible for small repair businesses like ours to repair your devices. If they could, they would put us all out of business. Leaving you with Apple as the only way to have your devices repaired.
Seeing this sort of repair attempt from Apple, along with the video pinned to the top of this page, should make even the most conservative among us pause to consider whether we want Apple, John Deer, and their like having total control over repairing of all your devices.
Apologies for the long post, but Todd's experience coupled with the evidence in the video has opened a lot of peoples eyes, maybe this post will open a few more.
Thank you for your time.
