Recovering people pleaser over here 🙋🏻‍♀️

For most of my life, people-pleasing felt like a strength. And early in my design career, it honestly helped me navigate the industry.

But eventually, I realized it wasn’t serving me or my clients because when you hire an expert, you hire them for their expertise. My job isn’t to tell you what you want to hear. It’s to tell you what I genuinely think your brand needs and what isn’t serving you or your goals.

Getting older, more confident, and more protective of my time has taught me to trust my expertise and stop shrinking it to make everyone happy.

Entrepreneurship has also been a HUGE exercise in personal growth for me—mindset, routines, goals, vision boards, all the slightly woo-woo things. 😂

So here’s to trusting ourselves a little more, setting better boundaries, and leaving the people-pleasing behind.

If you’re a fellow recovering people pleaser… we’re in this together. 🫶
