🎬✨ After a couple of weather delays the past couple weeks, last weekend was the perfect way to kick off our 2026 outdoor movie season! Beautiful skies, fantastic crowds, lots of popcorn and two awesome nights under the stars made it all worth the wait! 🌟🍿

There’s just something about sitting outside under the stars with a big screen and good people that never gets old. We’re beyond excited for another season packed with movie nights, school events, pool parties, neighborhoods, birthdays, and more all across Kansas City! We're excited to see all of our longtime friends that we've had the privilege of spending many summers doing their events. At the same time, we have a bunch of new clients and events coming up that we can't wait to get started with too!

🎬 We’re Hiring Audio Visual Technicians for Our 2026 Movie Season!

Love movies? Know your way around sound, screens, and setup? This is your chance to turn that into a seriously fun gig.

We’re looking for a couple reliable, tech-savvy AV pros to help bring outdoor movie nights to life for our upcoming 2026 season. You’ll be setting up and running audio/visual equipment for events that create unforgettable experiences.

💡 What you’ll do:
• Set up and operate projectors, screens, and sound systems
• Troubleshoot AV issues on-site
• Run popcorn machines and other concessions
• Help create smooth, high-quality event experiences

⏰ Perks:
• Weekend evening work (perfect side hustle)

Spring is in the air! The flowers are starting to bloom, the days are getting longer, and backyards are coming back to life. 🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day from all of us at Backyard Box Office! 🇺🇸

Today, we want to take a moment to thank all of our veterans, those who have served and those who continue to serve our country each and every day. Your dedication, sacrifice, and strength inspire us beyond words.

We’re fortunate to do a lot of events every year for so many incredible people, communities, organizations, schools, and more. But every now and then, there are a few that truly stand out above and beyond the rest, the kind that remind us why we do what we do.

Last week was one of those special moments. We had the incredible privilege of being part of a beautiful event where Staff Sergeant Charles “Chuck” Dickson was gifted a new mortgage-free home in Blue Springs, thanks to Freedom Alliance, U.S. Bank and Ashlar Homes It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and emotion. It was truly one of the top five most moving events we’ve ever been part of.

Seeing Chuck, his wife Lisa, and their son receive the keys to their new home after more than 20 years of service and sacrifice was something we’ll never forget. We’re deeply honored to have been part of this celebration and so thankful to those who make moments like this possible.

Today and every day, we honor all of our veterans. THANK YOU for everything you do and everything you’ve given in service to our country. 🇺🇸

I know this is a bit delayed, but it has been a CRAZY fall with some awesome events. This was such a beautiful fall night and an AMAZING event in Manhattan that we were privileged to be part of. Nothing but great people and a great night. Just wish the outcome of the game would've been better for our Wildcat friends. We hope to do this again sometime soon! Thanks to Manhattan Brewing Company for the invite and letting us be a 30 foot part of this event with our massive Majestic screen!
