Its a new year, and many more new projects!

I have been busy the past few weeks doing an upgrade on my gaming computer. The processor was due to have the thermal paste cleaned off and reapplied, which led me down the path of changing out the tubing and coolant in the custom liquid cooling loop. The radiator and fans also needed a good dusting! There is more to come with this project as I plan to change out the soft flexible tubing for some hard tubing.

Alongside that, I have been busy tackling a water damaged Nintendo Switch Lite that I have had for awhile now. Everything works on it, except for the display. This has been a fun learning experience that has helped me learn more about micro soldering and using a hot air rework station.

I am also proud to announce that we now offer Remote Desktop Support. With that I am able to offer computer support from the comfort of your home. Sometimes that isn't possible, but most computer issues can be solved remotely. It’s been awhile since our last post, we’ve been busy refurbishing some consoles and fixing other various electronics.

Two of the consoles we have been working on are ready to find their new homes. We have an Xbox Series X and a Sega Genesis up for sale now.

We got the Xbox in with a busted HDMI port so we got that swapped out along with thermal pads, thermal paste, and a very thorough cleaning. The Sega Genesis was having power issues and a problem with a controller port. We picked this Xbox Series X up online with a broken HDMI port. After removing the broken port and replacing with a brand new one, this console is able to be used again.

While we had this open it got new thermal paste and new thermal pads installed to make sure it stays nice and cool through out long gaming sessions.

We had a customer get ahold of us this week to fix a charging issue with their sons Chromebook. Upon further inspection we determined the charge port was broken.

After finding the port we needed online we were able to open up the laptop and change out the port and now it is as good as new! We also gave the customer a magnetic charger to prevent this issue from happening in the future.

So we decided to explore some more options to offer as a service. After seeing a few Xbox controllers online that had some LEDs in them we figured why not try that on our Xbox controller.

In the mean time, we are going to keep testing this controller to ensure the LED kit we bought is a good one.

We just finished up our first updated Sega Game Gear. With a new shell, and IPS LCD screen, this 30 year old handheld game console has a new lease on life.

Just looking at the picture you can see how much better the new display is compared to the original. Although the picture does it no justice!

These consoles have had their capacitors replaced and every internal component cleaned and checked for corrosion. With one of them finished we have 3 more to go.

We just got three more Xbox 360s in. If anyone is interested in one of them please get in touch with us. We plan to open them up, clean them out thoroughly, and RGH3 them.

We have been busy this weekend modding two Xbox 360s.

These two might look the same on the outside, but have slight variations to their motherboards. One of them has the Trinity motherboard and the other has a Corona V1 or V2. The major difference between the two are where we have to solder in our connections, along with the way you program them.

After getting everything wired and programmed, this offers the ability to run homebrew programs. With those programs you are able to copy your game collection to the hard drive and not have to use the game disc anymore. You’re even able to change what the Xbox boots to. Either the stock dashboard or using a custom dashboard like Aurora that offers a nice streamlined user interface.

We recently acquired two Nintendo Gamecubes that have broken disc drives. Instead of fixing the disc drives(that will happen here in a few days) we decided to do something to them that is called Picoboot.

This allows you to play your games off of an SD card using an adapter. This doesn’t prevent you from playing games via a disc. It instead allows you to backup your game collection to avoid worrying about the disc drive breaking.
